I have tried many tools and techniques over the years and I’m learning more and more that I am a very visual person. If documenting the work can be interactive and visual I seem to be more productive.
An idea that I have recently been working on is something I’m calling (for now until a better name comes along) a destruction board.
The general idea is to break down a project into bite-sized tasks.
Each task gets written on a post-it note.
After breaking down the project and creating the post-it notes they are laid out on a board.
Once a task is complete I take it off the board, crush it in my hand, and throw it in the trash (very satisfying).
I’m sure other methods like this one exist but the destruction board has been a huge help in simplifying what I need to do and visualizing how to accomplish it.
